COMPANY HISTORY
Three original partners-----John, Marvin, and Aine----founded
Focused in 1992 to solve a challenge from Sunsweet Growers:
detect the pits still inside prunes after mechanical pitting,
fast and accurately.
Since
then, word got out of our expertise; and we have tackled
challenges with walnut shells, cranberry bogs, rocks, garlic,
and scrap metal, to name a few. Our turnkey machines are
easy to use, elegantly simple and compact in their design.
John
McGloughlin, President, was an original co-founder of the
firm. He has assembled a fine team of loyal players in various
disciplines. We enjoy the many benefits of our central location
in California's capitol city, Sacramento.

INDUSTRY HISTORY
Not long ago, only human beings hovered over assembly lines-----grading,
sorting, inspecting------their eyes and fingers doing the
work of separation by standards.
Later
in the 20th century, the new field of Machine Vision offered
early attempts at visual inspection with PCs, using cameras,
generic components, and GUI software-------integrations
which saved costly human labor.
Now,
in the 21st century, Focused takes Machine Vision one step
further, offering turnkey machines focused at specific tasks
where speed and accuracy matter most. Our proprietary electronics
designs are simply not available elsewhere.
